Cultivating a Summer Capsule Wardrobe

It can be hard to find something to wear in the summer months when you aren’t feeling well. That’s why it’s important to have a few staple pieces in your closet to carry to bulk of how you’re feeling, regardless if you choose to have a capsule wardrobe.

What even is a capsule wardrobe? A capsule wardrobe simply means that your closet has a minimalist aesthetic that emphasizes on timeless staples rather than fast fashion. Whether or not you choose to shrink your closet in half, here are some helpful tips to finding the staple pieces for the hot summer months.

My first recommendation is to have two to three tops that do not rub or itch and are breathable. This could look like having a lightweight tank top (like The Isla Tank!), a flowy blouse, or a button up.

My second recommendation is to have an easy, breezy pair of pants (like The Soléa Pants!), a flowy skirt, or a pair of soft shorts that do not have a tight waistband. It really does not matter if you only have one of these items as long as they are completely and entirely comfortable.

Of course, one should always have a go-to dress (like The Liora Dress, okay, I’ll stop!) that is comfortable and adjustable as well as a swim suit that makes you feel confident in every way. Another option to add to a summer capsule wardrobe is a light sweater, because the evenings can often bring in a chilly breeze!

Of course, you want your summer capsule wardrobe to be timeless, but you also want it to be completely you! Choose colors that make you feel yourself and give you joy. My go-to happy color will always be butter yellow 🙂
